About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Video Codecs team you will report directly to the VP of Video Clients. You will work with product and engineering teams to improve image quality on mobile streaming. Additionally you will build features to enhance Twitch's video processing such enhanced face filters.

You can work remotely in the United States, or from Irvine, CA; Seattle, WA, and Salt Lake City, UT.

You Will:

  • Design, implement and deploy media platform features based on several streaming technology stacks (ie: WebRTC, HLS and RTMP)
  • Understand product goals and customer scenarios in Live/Video On Demand media streaming domain
  • Use the latest techniques in computer vision to improve video codecs.
  • Rigorously measure the impact of new features, learning from data and converting insights into improvements
  • Improve tooling between client / server interaction

You Have:

  • 5+ years of professional software development or equivalent expertise.
  • 5+ years of experience in computer vision
  • 5+ years of experience with 3D graphics on mobile devices.
  • 5+ years of expertise with modern C++ 11 and up.
  • Bachelors/master's degree in computer science or Engineering

Bonus Points

  • Hands-on experience using machine learning on video pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with real-time communication protocols like WebRTC/RTP/SRTP/RTCP
  • Hands-on experience with video protocols like HLS/DASH
  • Have worked on teams that practice; Unit testing, TDD, or Agile
  • Experience with open source projects
