As a React Developer at Newton, you will work on our main web project in React.js, developing high-quality components. You’ll use modern techniques, tools, and frameworks and can communicate the tradeoffs for your technical decisions. You’ll drive features from start to finish, from gathering requirements with business stakeholders to leading technical design and implementation. You write high-quality, testable code. When mistakes are made, you dive deep into root-cause and can craft up a solution. You work well in a small collaborative team; every member is a key contributor.

As a React Developer, you will:

Work on the frontend React.js framework
Develop clean, efficient code with accompanying unit tests
Write integration tests to ensure code quality
Help build and maintain a reusable components library
Participate in code reviews and invite others to review your work
Champion the importance of addressing technical debt
Be a force-multiplier for the development team; solutions you provide are simple, scalable, and enable engineers to code more effectively
Passionate about learning and sharing knowledge with the rest of the team

What we're looking for:

Experience in a startup environment; you’re a self-starter
Experience with Javascript (React.js), HTML, CSS (SASS), CSS-in-JS (Styled-Components), and HTML
Experience with Redux or other state management frameworks
Advanced knowledge and understanding of web technologies and UI/UX standards.
Experience with performance monitoring and optimizing the web experience
Experience with cross-browser development and responsive web-design
Familiarity with issue tracking tools (i.e. JIRA, Asana)
Experience with version control tools like Git

Bonus:

Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Jest
Experience with CI / CD
Experience with A/B testing
Familiarity building tools across multiple apps or platforms
