Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Role Overview:

As the Senior Manager of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire software development lifecycle of SaaS Protection. You will lead a team of talented software engineers, and technical leads, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, support, infrastructure, and UX/UI design. Your deep expertise in software engineering will be instrumental in guiding the development and implementation of our product roadmap, ensuring high-quality code, and delivering exceptional user experiences. This is technical hands-on position.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership on SaaS Protection development strategy, including mass scale private cloud SAAS architecture, leading communication with key vendors being Microsoft and Google.
• Contribute to development ensuring the SaaS Protection has strong integration across Kaseya’s portfolio.
• Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions for cloud services and cloud applications
• Support and improve a modern, agile approach to software development that is driven by instrumentation, automation, and AI solutions.
• Must be hands on with the ability to code, review code, and design features that interact with multiple system components.
• Deep understanding of high load challenges and modern approaches to its resolution.
• Experience with modern software development practices, such as agile methodologies, DevOps, continuous integration, and automated testing.
• Knowledge of software architecture patterns, cloud-based solutions, and microservices architecture.

Team Management:

• As a former developer, you will lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software engineers, architects, and technical leads.
• Define and manage individual and team goals, performance evaluations, and career development plans.
• Collaborate with HR & Talent organizations for recruiting, onboarding and retention of top engineering talent.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, UX/UI design, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and executive leadership to align the software engineering strategy with overall business goals.
• Effectively communicate technical concepts, project updates, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with product management to define the product roadmap, technical requirements, and project schedules.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science

Working knowledge or certification in the following areas are a big plus:

• Mass scale SaaS application development experience
• Databases such as Aurora RDS, MySQL or PostgreSQL
• ElasticSearch/OpenSearch and modern queueing tools.
• Container technologies such as Docker
