The Role
Our team at SoFi is looking for a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to join our Lending Division. You will lead the development efforts and collaborate with a group of talented software engineers. With your leadership your team will directly release consumer facing features and help grow the SoFi Home Loan business to new records. Each team is empowered to make technical conclusions. You will collaborate with business and product leadership and solve a wide range of challenges. You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation, coding, testing, deploying, monitoring, and supporting mission-critical systems. You will work with the engineers on your teams to help them grow their careers along the way, as well as helping mold and grow the next leaders on your teams.
About the Team:
Our team empowers individuals and families to achieve their homeownership dreams by offering a comprehensive range of mortgage products, personalized financial guidance, and a seamless digital experience. You will be at the heart of our technology efforts. You will implement new functionality, resolve bugs, maintain the health of our codebase, and continuously grow as an engineer. You will work closely with Sales, Business and Marketing and build technology and solutions to deliver solutions that enable our Sales team to operate efficiently and eventually help our members realize their dream of home ownership.
What you’ll do
- Manage engineers with the focus on improving overall borrow experiences for our customers and our Sales officers.
- You have and continue to demonstrate command of the technical and operational requirements of your role.
- You successfully develop employees and help them grow within the organization.
- You resolve employee-related issues professionally - occasionally escalating these issues to the next level of the organization.
- You fully comprehend, effectively communicate, and enforce goals and objectives, feedback, measurable, and improvement plans.
- Monitor and understand the key metrics governing your product area, with an eye toward continuously improving them through ongoing product innovation.
- Establish product delivery timelines.
- Understanding and owning key metrics for the team.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
- 6+ years of Software Engineering experience
- 4+ years management experience
- Familiarity with our core stack: Java/Kotlin/Spring/GraphQL/React, and experience running on Docker/Kubernetes in a service-oriented architecture.
- Experience managing engineers, and coaching and growing leaders
- Experience working in a collaborative coding environment, refining designs together, working through code reviews and managing pull requests
- Passion and expertise for tools and technology
- Affinity for solving problems and shipping impactful features, not polishing perfect code or architecture
- Knowledge in analytics, metrics, and monitoring integrations.
- A strong sense of responsibility, driving projects from inception to completion.
- Experience with Salesforce and/or other CRM is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
