The Role

As our Senior Director of IT Operations, you’ll do more than oversee systems and services—you’ll architect the strategy that powers seamless operations and innovation across our global enterprise.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the Vision for Global IT Operations:
Design and execute a forward-thinking operations strategy that supports SoFi’s bold business goals. Improve performance, reduce friction, and elevate IT as a proactive partner to the business.
- Build & Empower a World-Class Team:
Shape a high-performing, inclusive, and globally distributed organization. Prioritize mentorship, succession planning, and leadership development to grow future trailblazers.
- Deliver Impact with Cross-Functional Influence:
Collaborate across Engineering, InfoSec, Facilities, and HR to solve enterprise challenges with agility and accountability. Your work will directly enhance productivity , improve resilience, and decrease risk across the company.
- Champion Innovation and Operational Excellence:
Lead the charge in adopting automation, AI/ML insights, and modern self-service tools. Bring clarity to complexity through measurable outcomes and streamlined processes.
- Own Service Continuity & Incident Response:
Refine and scale incident management frameworks that ensure fast, effective resolution with minimal disruption—because every second counts.
- Elevate the Employee Experience:
Partner with HR and People Tech to co-create technology experiences that empower employees from onboarding to offboarding.
- Drive Financial Stewardship:
Manage and optimize the IT operations budget with precision, ensuring investments align with strategic priorities and deliver measurable ROI.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in IT operations, including 5+ years in a senior global role.
- Proven experience managing complex, matrixed organizations and third-party IT vendors.
- Deep understanding of enterprise IT support, service management frameworks (ITIL, COBIT), and modern ITSM tools (ServiceNow preferred).
- Strong track record of evaluating and adopting emerging technologies to deliver business value.
- Inspiring leadership style focused on mentorship, diversity, and team growth.
- Confident communicator with executive presence and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluent in navigating diverse geographies and multicultural teams.
- BS/MS in IT, InfoSec, or related discipline—or equivalent experience.
- Experience with HR systems such as Workday and exposure to AI/ML automation platforms is a plus.
- Experience in the Financial Services / Banking industries is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
