Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company
Join BILL as a Staff Data Warehouse Engineer and help build the trusted, scalable data foundation that powers decision-making across our business. As part of the Data Operations organization, you’ll partner closely with Marketing, Product, Analytics, and Data Science to translate real business needs into durable data models, reliable pipelines, and actionable insights. If you thrive on solving ambiguous problems with elegant, production-grade data engineering, this is a high-ownership role where your work will be felt company-wide.
In this role, you’ll shape the architecture and standards that enable teams to move faster with confidence—designing for quality, governance, and reusability from day one. You’ll own key branches of our data ecosystem, mentor peers, and bring a pragmatic, builder mindset to evolve our platform as BILL scales. Make an impact at BILL by creating the patterns and products others can depend on.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and evolve resilient warehouse/data models and pipelines that stand the test of time
Ensure data quality, security, and governance through tests, observability, and clear ownership patterns
Translate complex business requirements into simple, scalable technical solutions and documentation
Define and promote standards that create simple, repeatable patterns across teams and domains
Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Marketing, Product, Analytics, Data Science) to deliver trustworthy, ready-to-use data
Mentor teammates, review designs/code, and raise the engineering bar for reliability and maintainability
Explore and introduce new capabilities that expand what our data stack can do
We’d love to chat if you have:
BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
5+ years in Data Engineering (or combined Software + Data Engineering) with production ownership
Experience in financial services and/or SaaS environments
Proven success integrating customer data into business operations from the ground up
Expert-level SQL and strong Python, with deep knowledge of ETL/ELT patterns, ingestion, and orchestration
Desired Qualifications:
Advanced data modeling expertise across normalized design and warehouse paradigms
Background in software engineering, DevOps, or enterprise data systems and tooling
Track record of novel, real-world solutions and a pragmatic builder mindset (knowing when to build vs. buy)
Visa Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.
