About the role
- As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building pipelines following the best practices of data-oriented software development, working with cloud architectures and their ecosystems. You will use appropriate tools for processing large volumes of data, optimizing resources, and reducing costs. We are looking for someone passionate about mentoring and being a go-to person for the team, sharing knowledge of best practices to drive business insights through data.
What you will do
- Design and develop data pipelines toingest, enrich, and consume data efficiently.
- Write and maintainAirflowDAGsforprocessingbothstreaming and batch data.
- Build and developmicroservicesusing Node.js, Python, and Scala todeliver data solutionstocustomers.
- Conduct code reviews while ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Provide support for Airflow DAGs and existing ETL processes.
- Analyze, understand, and improve data structures and common methods for data transformation.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor’sdegreeorMaster’s in ComputerScience, Engineering, or a relatedtechnicalfield, orequivalentexperience.
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer, working on business logic processes, data warehouse modeling, insight delivery, and KPI strategy.
- Strong experience with programming languages (Python, Java)
- Hands-onexperiencewithdistributeddatabasesystems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake) and familiaritywithdistributedsystemsconcepts (e.g., key-valuestores).
- Deep knowledgeof SQL and otherdatabasesolutions.
- Proficient in batchprocessing and Unix systems.
- Solid understandingof data warehousingmodels and expertisewith ETL toolslikeAirflow and Pentaho.
- Experiencewithcloudplatforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Knowledgeofalgorithms and data structures.
- ExperiencewithKubernetes.
- Intermediatetoadvanced English proficiency.
