We are seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Backend Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our robust and scalable software systems. Reporting into the Head of Engineering, the ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in backend development and proficiency in Node.js, possess knowledge and experience in company-wide architecture, specifically in integrating systems such as Pardot, Salesforce, Smartsheets, and Google Sheets.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable backend software systems using Node.js, with a focus on integrating and optimizing company-wide architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and sales teams, to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions for demand-side systems like Pardot and Salesforce.
  • Integrate Pardot and Salesforce with other internal systems and third-party APIs to automate and streamline marketing, sales, and customer relationship management processes.
  • Implement data synchronization and transformation pipelines to ensure seamless data flow between different systems.
  • Design and implement secure and scalable APIs to facilitate communication and data exchange between backend systems and external platforms.
  • Collaborate with fulfillment teams to understand their requirements and integrate systems such as Smartsheet and Google Sheets on the fulfillment side.
  • Develop and optimize backend workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and productivity across the company.
  • Perform thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure high-quality and bug-free software.
  • Optimize and enhance existing backend systems for improved performance, scalability, and integration capabilities.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in backend development and system integration, and contribute ideas to enhance the development process.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on system integration and architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js and its ecosystem, including Express.js or similar frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and experience in designing and implementing them.
  • Experience with integrating and customizing systems like Pardot and Salesforce on the demand side, and Smartsheet and Google Sheets on the fulfillment side.
  • Familiarity with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of data synchronization and transformation techniques and tools.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
