Join us as our Lead Engineer!
Xero’s Authorisation Team is looking for a Lead Engineer to join our team. This is a pivotal role who will aid in shaping and driving the future of Xero’s Authorisation platform. This is a high impact role, working on a platform of large scale and throughput, responsible for the User Permission functionality across the majority of Xero’s products. This product area allows candidates to work with both internal and external customers to achieve successful outcomes for all. The core engine of the platform is Golang, but many services we own in the peripheral are in .NET. You’ll be joining a pod of talented developers mostly based in Melbourne. 

What we need from you
We're seeking a leader with a solid technical foundation and a proven track record in technically guiding high-performing engineering teams. You’ll understand the importance of balancing product strategy and technical goals. Your success will hinge on your ability to proactively mitigate risks, evaluate solutions, and uphold the highest engineering standards. We’re looking for someone who can ignite a culture of innovation and teamwork within their pod. You will be working to coach the team and individuals’ growth, while also helping to set and drive the bigger architectural and technical vision.

What you'll bring with you:

  • Some architectural experience
  • Experience in either Golang or .NET
  • Experience successfully coaching and mentoring engineers
  • Experience leading significant feature projects to completion
