Description

The Information and Technology Manager is responsible for the supervision, implementation, and maintenance of Varsity Tutors’ computing needs. They will ensure a secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware, and software used within the company while managing a team of IT employees and overseeing their performance.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technical field experience

  • 3+ years as an IT Manager, or related experience,  in a technical and remote customer-focused position

  • Lead and champion organizational change management

  • Experience with Agile base practice and ITSM frameworks

  • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.

  • Ability to lead, prioritize, facilitate, organize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently

  • Ability to learn quickly and keep up with technical innovation and trends in IT

  • Proficient with Google’s IdP

  • Experience with identity federation standards like SAML and OAuth

  • Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics (OKR, KPI)

  • Extensive experience working with different operating systems including Mac OS

  • Proficient with OKTA, GAM, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Time management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution.


Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and develop a team of IT professionals; communicate job expectations and conduct performance reviews

  • Establish and maintain a positive, productive relationship with the organization

  • Understand business requirements to provide feedback and direction

  • Monitor performance of IT systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the overall  infrastructure

  • Interact with senior and executive leadership and staff to provide technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions

  • Identify risk, need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management for decisions

  • Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware

  • Analyze compliance requirements for various procedures and provide necessary training if required and design strategies to achieve all objectives

  • Administer internal audit processes and ensure successful audits

  • Document and enhance the existing business processes

  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts

  • Control budget and report on expenditure

  • Maintains current understanding of industry standards, trends, and best practices through industry and other professional networks

  • On-call duties

  • Other duties as needed or required
