About the Role:

As an Instructional Designer (ID) on the Early Careers team, you will centralize and design/develop software engineering resources from Twitch and Amazon to incoming hires with 0-2 years of professional experience. You will interview subject matter experts and partners and aggregate resources to present onboarding plans and resources that can easily onboard and upskill hires. You will have experience quickly creating and delivering differentiated engineering onboarding materials.

This position can be located in Irvine, CA; Seattle, WA; New York, NY; and Salt Lake City, UT.

You Will:

  • Create a holistic early career Software Development Engineer (SDE) portal and onboarding curriculum for onboarding early career SDE hires
  • Analyze existing engineering content and partner with engineers to review/audit onboarding material 
  • Differentiate the onboarding plan for varied types of early career hires (interns, apprentices…) 
  • Create self-paced modules that teach content areas identified as part of the onboarding process. 
  • Aggregate all early career engineering resources in a central repository 
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Early Careers and other partners to provide status updates

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in instructional design
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering partners across departments/levels
  • Used Articulate Rise to design instructional content 
  • Worked autonomously overseeing end-to-end ID projects 
  • Experience creating content with rapid ID methodologies

Bonus Points

  • Certificate in Instructional Design
  • Experience creating and teaching early career engineering content
  • Experience creating content for to teach engineering at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $48.00/hour in our lowest geographic market up to $57.00/hour in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
