Grail is excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Generative AI Innovation Intern to join our trail-blazing Technology Innovation team. This role is designed for an imaginative and pioneering individual who is eager to explore uncharted territories in generative AI applications. This is a rare chance to contribute to a variety of groundbreaking projects that test the limits of AI's potential. We are looking for Rising Seniors or Masters level students.

In this role you will be onsite in Menlo Park, CA with our team 2 days a week during your internship. We anticipate the start date being June 17. There is a one week unpaid summer break July 1-5th.

Responsibilities

Spearhead innovative projects using generative AI to create novel solutions for challenges across various departments at Grail.
Collaborate with diverse teams to ideate, design, and implement AI prototypes and systems that push the envelope of current technology.
Take intellectual risks by experimenting with new ideas and approaches, learning from both successes and failures.
Contribute to the culture of innovation by actively participating in brainstorming sessions and technology reviews.
Provide fresh perspectives on how to leverage AI for automation, enhanced creativity, and improved operational efficiency.
Document and present your explorations and innovations, sharing your findings with the Grail team to inspire further innovation.
Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in AI, and assess their potential applications within Grail without revealing strategic intentions to the industry.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, ideally in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
Demonstrated experience with AI, particularly in generative models or creative AI applications.
Inventive thinker with a willingness to try unconventional approaches and ideas.
Proficient in one or more programming languages (Python preferred) with a strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity.
Strong communication skills, essential for cross-functional collaboration and idea sharing.
A passion for innovation and the desire to make a significant impact in a pioneering role.

The expected hourly pay scale for this position is Bachelors: $40/hr or Masters: $50/hr. Actual hourly pay will consider skills, experience, and location.

Based on the role, colleagues may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance, or an incentive plan. We also offer a long-term incentive plan to align company and colleague success over time.
