Postman, a global leader in API development and testing, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Engineering Manager to join our innovative team in Bangalore. As a crucial member of the Platform Team, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing multi-region cloud architectures deployed in public clouds using Kubernetes, contributing to the success of our wider engineering organization.

About the Role:

 As an Engineering Manager for the Cloud Platform team at Postman, based in Bangalore, you will lead a team responsible for building and scaling Postman’s microservice-based architecture. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable and reliable microservices that power Postman’s API platform, which serves millions of developers worldwide.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead a team of highly skilled engineers to build and scale microservices that power Postman’s cloud platform.
  • Drive the architectural direction of the platform, ensuring services are secure, resilient, and scalable.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement best practices for microservice development, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring high-quality code and quick turnaround times.
  • Support the team in developing reusable platform components and services that empower other engineering teams across the organization.
  • Actively contribute to improving engineering practices, addressing technical debt, and driving operational excellence.
  • Work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to prioritize projects and ensure timely delivery.
  • Mentor, grow, and develop your engineering team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance environment.

About You:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role.
  • Proven experience in designing, building, and scaling microservices in a cloud-native environment.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in building distributed systems and microservices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and building scalable, secure, and reliable systems.
  • Experience working with teams across different time zones and driving projects with distributed teams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have :

  • Experience with public APIs, API lifecycle management, and related cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with modern monitoring, observability, and incident management tools.
