The Role

The Billing team sits at the core of Loom’s business strategy - as a product-led growth organization, converting users and collecting payment is a foundational capability that is critical to our business and growth. Our billing team is responsible for evolving the quality and value of our billing platform, driving conversion while creating trust and transparency throughout the entire billing process.

Loom is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead this mission-critical team of engineers. This person will be a strong technical and people-focused leader, who embodies the values we seek in our engineering leaders to delivery with velocity, continuously demonstrate cross team ownership, fail forward in the face of adversity, and an inner drive to open black boxes. You’ll become a domain expert and a trusted partner to colleagues across the organization, working closely with a team of fullstack engineers as well as data, research, support, design, and PM partners to deliver a world-class billing experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead our Billing team in building out our billing platform
  • Own implementation, quality, and timely delivery of new billing experiences 
  • Empower internal teams with billing-related tooling and data
  • Support our highly-skilled team in their career goals and aspirations
  • Foster a healthy, supportive, and inclusive work environment within the team
  • Own a technical roadmap for our billing systems, and collaborate closely with our design and product partners to create unified quarterly and yearly roadmaps for the team
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve reliability within our billing system
  • Advise and support the team on architecture, technical design, and debugging

Qualifications:

  • A track record of shipping widely-used products with high-quality user experiences as an engineering individual contributor and as an engineering leader
  • Previous experience leading a product engineering team
  • You know how to delegate appropriately and are comfortable jumping into code and technical discussions
  • Willingness to dive into unfamiliar technologies, and experience doing so
  • Demonstrated experience leading overall design and implementation of projects involving extensive collaboration with other engineers, product, and design.
  • Previous experience with billing systems is a plus

We offer a flexible PTO policy so you're able to take time off when you need it. We also go fully offline  for Summer Break around 4th of July and between Christmas and New Years.
