What You'll Do

As the Director of Solutions Engineering, you will lead a team of Solutions Engineers through the comprehensive sales cycle in the dynamic and rapidly evolving Indian market. Collaborating closely with Sales leadership, your strategic and operational input will be crucial in driving business growth and adapting our global strategies to meet local demands. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership and Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Solutions Engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Strategic Technical Direction: Establish and execute a technical strategy that aligns with the specific challenges of cloud adoption and security faced by Indian enterprises.
  • Customer Lifecycle Management: Act as an executive sponsor to ensure strategic engagements during crucial stages of the customer lifecycle, facilitating successful deployments and substantial value realization.
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Utilize analytics to refine business operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic Influence: Play a pivotal role in decision-making and initiate projects that address regional needs and utilize local market insights.
  • Communication of Regional Insights: Relay critical customer feedback and regional trends to corporate leadership to inform strategic decisions.

What You'll Need

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 8 years in a leadership role within Technical Pre-Sales or Sales Engineering, ideally with significant exposure to the Indian market.
  • Proven Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage a dynamic and geographically diverse team, focusing on performance and professional development. Experience in standing up hub teams and Centers of Excellence (COEs) is essential, showcasing your ability to build and scale effective technical operations within the region.
  • Innovation and Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, strategically leading projects that cater to the unique market dynamics of India.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of DevOps practices, multi-cloud environments, and cybersecurity, particularly relevant to the Indian regulatory and business environments. Your knowledge should encompass how to architect and deploy scalable and secure applications across multiple cloud platforms, facilitating seamless integration and operational efficiency.
  • Open Source and Commercial Acumen: In-depth knowledge of the open-source environment in India, coupled with proven strategies to transition customers from open-source to enterprise-tier solutions, maximizing both customer value and business revenue.
  • Operational Rigor: Exceptional capability in implementing operational rigor and driving data-driven decision-making processes. You should have a strong track record of using analytics to assess the effectiveness and ROI of pre-sales efforts, ensuring optimal deployment of resources and alignment with business goals.
  • Superior Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts effectively across various audiences.
  • Interpersonal and Mentoring Skills: Skilled at building strong professional relationships and committed to the professional development of team members.
  • Decisive and Independent: Capable of making informed and autonomous strategic decisions.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively within the region and occasionally internationally.

 

What's nice to have (preferred qualifications)

Experience: Previous second-line leadership experience strongly preferred

Knowledge of HashiCorp Tools: Knowledge of, and experience with, any of the tools in the HashiCorp portfolio.

Education: Advanced technical/engineering degree; an MBA is helpful.
