As a Developer Documentation Intern on the Education team, you’ll contribute to the public documentation of one or more Apollo products and features (we’ll work together to figure out which products and features based on your background and interests). You’ll work closely with representatives from the corresponding product and engineering team(s) to create and edit docs for new releases, and you’ll address gaps in existing docs that are highlighted by community members and your Apollo teammates.

Each month, over 100,000 developers read the Apollo docs to help them adopt GraphQL with Apollo’s open-source libraries and cloud platform. One of those developers might be making their very first GraphQL query, while another might be adding the fifteenth microservice to their enterprise supergraph. The Apollo docs seek to provide both of those developers (and every developer in between) with the information they need in an approachable, encouraging way.

What You'll Do:

  • Create, edit, organize, and improve developer docs for one or more Apollo products and features at apollographql.com/docs
  • Collaborate with product teams to scope documentation needs and deliver timely content for releases
  • Optionally help brainstorm and build new features for the Apollo docs site (if that sounds fun)

About You:

  • You’re interested in a role that primarily involves writing words instead of code.
  • You value crisp writing and strive to produce it.
  • You give and receive editorial suggestions with care and grace.
  • You have experience with Git.
  • You have experience with at least one programming language. Experience specifically with Apollo or GraphQL is not required.
  • You’re looking forward to working with a distributed team.
  • You will graduate from school no later than the end of 2024.
This position can be done remotely from anywhere in the United States or from our headquarters in San Francisco.

This is a paid, full-time internship lasting 3 months. We are open to Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall 2023 interns.

Apollo is proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace dedicated to pursuing and hiring a talented and diverse workforce.
