The Role

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Pricing team in the Lending Organization. This is an exciting role for someone to make a direct impact on the revenue of SoFi. As a data scientist in our Pricing team, you will be working closely with a world-class team of business leaders and data scientists to help SoFi develop, implement, and analyze pricing strategies across our consumer lending products

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with internal teams to define pricing strategy requirements, ensuring accurate execution and maintaining a robust audit trail.
  • Improve algorithm performance, conduct code reviews, maintain system functionality, and develop systematic validation and new processes to enhance deployment reliability and accuracy.  
  • Work closely with Engineering to resolve system issues and ensure successful on-schedule deployment of pricing strategies
  • Collaborate with external partners to deliver seamless price execution across affiliate environments.
  • Support the creation of dashboards and alerts to monitor data pipelines and ensure pricing strategies operate as expected.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance pricing strategies, driving increased revenue and profitability.
  • Support ad hoc investigations and analytics requests to inform decision-making.

What you’ll need:

  • B.S. or M.S.. in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or related quantitative field is required for this position;
  • 2+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry working in the area of risk and data analytics.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; familiarity with Tableau or other data visualization tools is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is a must
  • Strong relationship-building and collaborative skills

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience in data engineering
  • Experience with Snowflake, Gitlab, Tableau
  • Experience working with product and/or engineering teams 
  • Experience in building pricing models/strategies
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
