We are building a SaaS software (named wefox platform) with several experiences to enable 

  • Insurers to create products, pre and post sales policy service management workflows.
  • Distributors & MGAs to discover products from various insurance companies, sell them (via standardised Risk Analysis, Lead identification & conversion workflows), manage commissions
  • Existing policy holders & potential policyholders to view & manage insurance policies in one place.
  • Technology companies publish insurance tools in the form of APIs via a marketplace.

What is your future team doing

Wefox platform Data team is responsible for developing Data products which gets used by internal (product managers of the Experience engineering teams to observe adoption of product features) and External Customers (Actuarial & financial accounting teams of Insurers, Financial analyst from mid-large side Sales & Distribution/MGA companies & affinity partners etc.). 

 

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building common tools, identifying automation opportunities within the data ingestion and data modelling space using DBT and Snowflake. Additionally, the Data Engineer will play a crucial role in productionizing pipelines for medium-complex data products employing ML and AI techniques. 

 

The candidate will be expected to embrace modern engineering practices, contribute to concept elaborations, document patterns, and actively participate in development for approved patterns.

What will you be doing:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Analyst, Data Product Manager, Principal Data Engineer, Data Governance Expert, Engineering Lead-Data) to implement automated solutions for efficient data pipelines.
  • Actively participate in Technical Refinement sessions to break down tasks, key challenges to be solved in the task, surface NFRs & data observability rules.
  • Productionize pipelines identifying & efficiently implementing Data quality rules.
  • Identify opportunities for automation within the data ingestion and data modelling space.
  • Build common tools using DBT and Snowflake to streamline and optimise data processes.
  • Work on enhancing and optimising existing data pipelines.
  • Write concept elaborations in the form of RFCs (Request for Comments).
  • Document patterns and elaborate on problems solved by these patterns.
  • Develop code for approved patterns as guided by Principal Engineers.
  • Share knowledge through forums like Geek Fridays or biweekly hack-sessions on Data Discovery, GenAI, and other relevant topics.

What You bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as data engineer on automation and data modelling.
  • Proficiency in any modern ETL tool 
  • Proficiency in any modern enterprise level Databases
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in languages like Python or SQL.
  • Familiarity with modern engineering rituals and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
