About the role
Weee! is looking for a Data Engineer, Tech Lead to join the Data & Analytics team. This role will lead a team of individual contributors and support the entire company’s data needs in various domains. You’ll be collaborating cross-functionally with global teams and will be working closely with our Merchandising, Operations and Accounting teams to understand the business needs. You will be working with teams in multiple regions across the United States and China.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall planning of the company's big data platform, technical route, system architecture design, development and implementation.
- Design and optimize the big data architecture, including data collection, data governance, data security, data warehouse, data application, algorithm application etc.
- In-depth understanding of the actual business, cooperate efficiently with the business departments, explore the value of data through various methods such as data analysis, data mining, machine learning, etc., and continuously improve the system related to data prediction, operation support, marketing application and decision support.
- Take the initiative to explore more potential and value of the big data team to realize stronger data support and data-driven capabilities.
- Responsible for the work management and ability improvement of big data team members, and control the forward-looking technology direction to support future business development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field involving software, systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of Data Engineer experience in performing data analysis, data ingestion and ETL (Extraction, Transformation & Loading).
- 2+ years of experience in a manager or tech leader role is a plus
- Experience with the Big Data technologies is a plus (Redshift, Hadoop, M/R, Hive, Spark, Metastore, Presto, Flume, Kafka, ClickHouse, Flink etc)
- Expertise in SQL & Python language.
- Proficient in the design and development of data warehouse and ETL, familiar with different machine learning platforms such as TensorFlow, Pytorch, etc., and understand various algorithms of machine learning;
- Experience creating dashboards/visualizations using, e.g., Tableau (or similar)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment and deliver excellent results, requiring minimal supervision. Cross-functional and can wear different hats at the same time.
- Strong communication skills, and ability to work with multiple stakeholders, must be able to communicate in both English and Chinese.
- High attention to details.

Compensation Range
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 - $180,000
- This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
