Cloud Solutions Engineer L2- Azure

Position Summary:

The Cloud Solutions Engineer L2 – Azure is a critical member of our Professional Services team. They are charged with executing scoped Azure projects such as migrations, AVD deployments, Azure infrastructure architecture and deployment, and other Azure-related duties. The Engineer L2 is a team player, working with their colleagues and our operations team to ensure project excellence with on time and high-quality execution. The is a mid-level engineering role with extensive room for growth of talent and position on our team. They are also mentors and growth enablers for Cloud Solutions Engineer L1s.  

Essential Responsibilities:

• Execute on professional services engagements in accordance with established timelines and expectation set forth in a scope of work.
• Collaborate with other members of our Professional Services organization including Solution Specialists (Pre-Sales Engineers) and Operations (Project Management) to aid in project success.
• Research, learn about, and master emerging technologies and concepts within the Azure space and acquire new certifications.
• Mentor, train, and support lower-level engineers within our Professional Services organization.

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

• At least four (4) to five (5) years of experience in Azure.
• At least two (2) years of experience as a Cloud Solutions Engineer L1 – Azure or equivalent role elsewhere in the IT Channel.
• Prior experience serving managed service partners and their small to mid-market clients in a consultative fashion.
• Ability to communicate technical information in lay terms.
• Prior experience with Azure Migration and Azure Site Recovery.
• Prior experience with migrating application and database workloads.
• Prior experience with Azure storage and Azure network (e.g., virtual networking, NSG, VPN).
• Knowledge of or exposure to Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Knowledge of or exposure to general server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
• Working knowledge of Hypervisors (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).
• General Azure troubleshooting experience (e.g., networking, DNS).
• Experience with Microsoft Cloud identity models (e.g., Azure Active Directory, Azure Active Directory Domain Services).
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
• Knowledge of Azure Platform Services (e.g., Azure SQL)
• Experience with or exposure to Microsoft Defender for Cloud.

Required Education & Certifications:

• B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience.
• Azure Solution Architect Expert required.
• Azure Security Engineer Associate preferred.
