The Business Applications team is a crucial part of our Merchant Product organization, which builds upon the DoorDash vision of connecting local delivery networks in cities all across the world. Impact is the name of the game for our Business Applications team, as the team executes major initiatives to drive internal efficiency in our merchant product organization and strategically enables internal teams to exceed objectives. About the Role

As a Software Applications Engineer on the Business Applications team, you will closely partner with our business transformation team as the lead expert on all things AWS. You will work to design, build critical infrastructure and services for Merchant Sales and Onboarding journey which is integrated with Salesforce and associated applications, from concept to implementation. You will provide technical guidance to your direct team as well as the business on leveraging AWS tools for automation. You will report into an Engineering Manager on our Business Applications team in our Merchant Product organization.

  • Operate as an expert on the team for AWS and have the ability to lead projects and initiatives that are highly impactful to the business.
  • See impact of your work first-hand with productive and personal interactions with our customers.
  • Lead architecture and development of REST and gRPC services for platforms and teams across the enterprise.
  • Provide technical leadership on different AWS services and manage the AWS infrastructure for the Business Applications team.

We’re excited about you because…

  • 5+ years of industry experience leading technical projects that are Business critical.
  • Develop deployable architecture through code using Terraform on AWS.
  • Experience deploying microservices on Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience working with SQL and No-SQL data stores
  • Experience in AWS Lambda, AWS Dynamo, AWS API Gateway, AWS S3, Amazon Connect Streams, Glue, Kinesis, Athena.
  • Programming skills in Node.js, Python, or Java/Kotlin.
  • Knowledge of React and Javascript.
  • Unit/integration testing experience
  • Experience on Front End Development is a big plus.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. 

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing on or integrating with Salesforce and Mulesoft.
  • Experience with real-time data stream processing.
