About the team + role 

Robinhood is looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager to define and drive programs that increase and sustain cloud cost efficiency. This work area is not only highly visible, but also critical to the company’s success.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, engineering teams, Finance, and others. By building a deep understanding of current challenges and priorities, you will help teams identify and execute on cost efficiency opportunities. Moreover, you will be responsible for ensuring alignment and up-to-date understanding across engineering.

As a member of the Capacity Engineering & Analysis (CEA) team, you will also play a central role in ensuring that Robinhood’s cloud cost management tooling delivers high visibility and enables teams to own and be accountable for their cost and usage. You will be expected to dive deep into relevant data and establish a feedback loop with the CEA team and its internal customers.

What you’ll do

  • Continuously improve and refine Robinhood’s cloud cost strategy to meet business goals.
  • Perform hands-on program management including planning, tracking, and reporting on cloud cost programs.
  • Collaborate and partner with engineering leadership and teams to align on priorities and improve cloud cost awareness & ownership.
  • Identify, surface, and track optimization opportunities so that stakeholders can make informed prioritization decisions.
  • Establish a feedback loop with internal partners to enable continuous improvement of cloud cost visibility and related tooling. 
  • Build strong relationships with non-engineering partners (Finance, Accounting, and others) to ensure business needs are met.

What you bring

  • 8+ years of experience leading technical programs at scale
  • Strong technical background including experience working with large-scale distributed systems, infrastructure, and related systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills that contribute to alignment and understanding amongst stakeholders.
  • Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts across a wide range of audiences (engineering, non-engineering, leadership, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of AWS or other public cloud providers. Familiarity and experience with cloud cost management (also known as FinOps, Cloud Financial Management, Cloud Economics, etc.) is a strong plus.
  • Ability to navigate multiple responsibilities and focus effort on highest priority projects.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
