Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

BILL is looking for a strategic influencer with a deep understanding of data to lead the Data Operations & Enablement team.  The Data Operations & Enablement team builds capabilities and practices that support the usage of data across BILL. The team supports stakeholders across the company to understand their needs, collect applicable requirements, develop solutions, solicit feedback, deploy to the data ecosystem, and showcase the result. Engineers on the Data Operations team bring a sense of pragmatic perfectionism, doing their best work every day and delivering quality data products to those whom they support.

Your mission will be to bridge the gaps between the data ecosystem and tools/vendors/capabilities that leverage data to drive our business growth and efficiency. If you thrive in a role that blends technical acumen with strategic influence across multiple domains, this is the opportunity for you.

  • Strategic Leadership: Drive the strategic vision for leveraging data across the organization, not just limited to product data but extending into finance, sales, marketing, and more.
  • Data Architecture Development: Build out and enhance the layers of data ingestion and integration, ensuring seamless connectivity with systems like Marketo, Salesforce, and other key business platforms.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with different business units to align data strategies and initiatives, ensuring cohesive data practices that support company objectives.
  • Team Management: Manage and grow a team of data engineers.  Foster an environment of growth, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Consulting and Scalability: Coordinate with consultants to build data systems in a way that is scalable and efficient, minimizing redundancy and maximizing effectiveness.
  • Influence and Communication: Drive influence and communication with various senior level leaders across all areas of the business.

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • Extensive Experience in Data Systems: Proven expertise in data architecture and engineering, particularly with marketing, sales, and advertising technology platforms.
  • Data Leadership: Extensive experience leading high performance data engineering and operations teams at a VP level
  • Leadership and Strategic Influence: Ability to lead through influence, with experience managing cross-functional teams and initiatives in a large-scale organization.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of developing innovative solutions to complex data integration challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts and strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Change Management: Skilled in change management, able to drive cultural shifts and integrate new processes smoothly and effectively.
  • Industry Expertise: Experience ideally in finance that heavily utilizes marketing tech, sales tech or ad tech, understanding the intricacies of data flows within these areas.
  • Advanced Degree: Master’s or PhD in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, or Information Systems is preferred
