Are you a proactive and skilled Data Engineer ready to take on exciting challenges? We're looking for someone who can implement data governance, control costs, and design architecture. Collaboration with teams and prioritizing business needs are vital. If you're ready to make an impact, we would love to chat! This position is for a 9 months contract.
Role Purpose
- Implementing data governance rules in Snowflake and data onboarding infrastructure.
- Migrating of existing data assets to Data Mesh.
- Implementing Snowflake setup as code.
- Responsible for building scalable, robust, and high-quality infrastructure to support our global cloud-native data platform.
Responsibilities & Key Activities
- Implementing data governance setup as code and deploying it on Snowflake.
- Implementing cost-control mechanisms on Snowflake.
- Designing architecture and suggesting new technologies and tools.
- Designing, developing, testing, deploying, and monitoring in-house services and tools to support our global data infrastructure.
- Working closely with engineering teams, data scientists, and product managers to support features on top of the data.
- Performing code reviews and prioritizing the requirements for the team; understanding the business needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience of more than 3 years with SQL, Python and optionally Scala.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Airflow.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience deploying production-quality code.
- Proven experience with Gitlab and CICD pipelines.
- At least 2 years of experience with Relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proven experience with data solutions in the cloud.
- Experience with Terraform (nice to have).
- Proven experience with Data Mesh (nice to have).
- Experience with DBT (nice to have).
- Proven ability to work well under pressure, capable of adapting and responding to change and able to multitask, communications skills.
- High work ethic, self-directed, resourceful, works independently, motivated by own drive and enthusiasm, proactive, independent, but also a team player.
- Excellent communication skills in English – both verbal and written.
